Well duh, house of straw and sticks blew away, brick stands strong.
Why people in Homestead, Florida had built their houses out of either ALL WOOD or only first floor cement walls is beyond me.
Living in florida, near the coast, your house SHOULD NOT be made of "weak" building materials. Thats just common sense.

use a lightly damp paper towel. then wipe it with a dry paper towel. thats all you need.
A paper towel can scratch the display. Use a micro-fiber or soft cotton cloth instead.

Hey guys, so long story short I found out that my parent's property insurance doesn't cover my dslr gear and computing gear. Where would you recommend me go to get insurance for all my gear for myself? I'm looking around for hassle-free options now. Preferably online.
Thanks,
John
I have every single piece of camera gear, individually at retail value, covered under my USAA Renters insurance. Even with all the gear I have, it is only about $13 a month for Renters + Gear.
Thanks,
John

1- Is it worth doing an SSD optibay upgrade? I figure it will cost me around 350 bucks, which is a almost a 3rd of an Air. Thoughts?
I did this recently on my 17" and it was totally worth it. I used OWC Data Doubler and 256Gb Corsair SSD from my old laptop. For a 115Gb SSD and Mounting kit - $229 + 75.

Hey, I'm in the same boat here
Recently bought an iBook, and although I love it, I hate the keyboard layout (supposed to be UK layout). It's not so much a problem per se, as I quickly adapt to new things. The biggest problem is that at work I have to use a windows PC, and I keep getting the keys wrong all the time!!!
The \ in my ibook is next to the return key, and next to the left shift on the pc at work. I can't tell you guys how many times I've typed # at work, expecting a \ (next to return is the # on a pc), or how many times I've typed ` expecting a \ on my ibook.
It's really getting on my nerves!!!
Now, here is a question for you all. When I'm at home, I don't mind using an external PC keyboard (i have a cordless logitech keyb/mouse thang). Is there any way I can remap the keys so that when I have the external keyboard, everything is where a PC would find it? ie, \ next to the left shift, # next to the return key, etc...
Thanks

Aw man :(
I would love, love, LOVE to help. But I'm so time-strapped right now I'm not even keeping up with Nintendo Players adequately. Part-time IT job + student = suckage.

i myself had this problem once in the past, i fixed it by using a small amount of superglue on the edges of the processor, just enough so it sticks firmly in place but not too much that it blocks the thermal paste between the heatsink and processor
will that fix the issue message that I keep getting? When I boot to the desktop it always says " restart" with a error message that looks like a shutdown button..

Yes, the vyper or a case will offer good protection but they are bulky.
They're not bulky. The MBP in the Vyper will still fit easily in another case. Check the outer dimensions of the Vyper and you'll see it's only slightly bigger than the MBP itself.

1. Go here: http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
2. Scroll down until you see "iPhone / iPod touch / iPad"
3. Click the drop down menu and look for "iPod Touch __G 3.1.2 7D11" *
4. Download the file and save it somewhere you remember
5. Open iTunes and plug in your iPod Touch normally.
6. Go into the iPod summary page and look for the "Restore button"
7. While holding the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard, click the "Restore" button
8. A window will pop up asking to locate the .ipa (The file you downloaded)
9. Select it and open it. It will now downgrade.
10. Congrats you are now on the faster 3.1.2!
*Fill the blank with the generation number.
If you have a flat back, then it's the first generation (1G)
If you have a curved back, and MB model number, it's the second generation (2G)
If you have a curved back and MC model number, it's the third generation (3G)
All 3.1.2 firmwares will be 7D11.
Hope this helps.

I've got Apache on port 80.
What I'm ultimately trying to do is forward all requests (HTTP, HTTPS, DNS) that goes to an IP address to a different server app (Ruby DNS & Ruby Http Sever) that's running on the same machine.
I can't change the ports that are being requested on this IP (They go to the default 80, 443, & 53), but my thought is that I can forward those ports from that particular IP address to the other ip address and ports on that same server.
That way depending on which IP you make the request to, you get a different server application (apache or ruby) responding.
Hope that makes sense.

I surfed on to this page (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productlist.aspx?fprint=yes) and notice MS introducing fingerprint technologies. And i think its a pretty good idea. I want to know if it was mac compat. or if apple was considering introducing something like this in the future. or just what pple thought in general about it.
I don't think that would be OS X compatible.
Sony sells the Puppy that does work with OS X

I never used a SP until a month ago, since I didn't want to risk impairing the image quality. At that time I bought a Power Support HD Anti-Glare SP (they didn't have Crystal). It is almost edge to edge. I fully expected that I would remove it soon after installing it but I have really grown to like the feel of it, and the fact that it hides a HUGE amount of the fingerprints that previously jumped right out at me. I don't intend to remove it soon. I've heard the PS Crystal is even better in terms of image quality.

Ok, if you could please describe the names and where the file(s) you removed I would like to do the same thing, as would we all I think.
Also, are you running 4.3.2 ?
